Re: trap messages

Kevin Küper

Maybe your node sending this trap is formating the description within a table.

OpenNMS normaly sends pure text-mails. Don’t know if it’s able to send html-mails where your text should be displayed as a table.

Re: trap messages

Tom Cameron
You would have to see if there is documentation by the manufacturer to change this.

Re: trap messages

Kevin Küper

Not the vendor.

You have to tell opennms to send html-mails. So that bodytype is of text/html not text/plain. Dunno if it’s even possible.

Not the vendor.
You have to tell opennms to send html-mails. So that bodytype is of text/html not text/plain. Dunno if it’s even possible.

It is possible. Edit javamail-configuration.properties, and verify that the following line is not commented and contains text/html as their value:

org.opennms.core.utils.messageContentType=text/html

You don't need to restart OpenNMS after changing that file.

Alejandro.

<notification name="SNMP Traps Alerts WildCard" status="on" writeable="yes">

<uei xmlns="">~.*/traps/.*</uei>

<description xmlns="">SNMP Trap Alerts Wildcards</description>

<rule xmlns="">IPADDR IPLIKE *.*.*.*</rule>

<destinationPath xmlns="">Email-Admin</destinationPath>

<text-message xmlns="">Notice #%noticeid% SnmpTrap Alert on Node %nodelabel%

Log Message : %logmsg%

Description %descr%

</text-message>

<subject xmlns="">Opennms SNMP Trap Alert on Node %nodelabel% at %time%</subject>

<numeric-message xmlns="">111-%noticeid%</numeric-message>

</notification>

this one is fine

<notification name="Splunk Error Alerts" status="on" writeable="yes">
