Following this link
http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Windows_Event_Log_Traps, we are supposed to configure SNMP service in Windows server to send out traps upon certain Windows events. But my ONMS only receives "cold start" and "SNMP service has started successfully" event. When we tried to find out the reason, it is found that SNMP Event Log Extension Agent has terminated.
According to this forum(
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverNIS/thread/89a95386-4aba-4338-953b-c7d25780972f/), it seems to be a bug in Windows server, which MS has never fixed.
Has anyone experienced the same issue? What is your solution or workaround, if there is?
