Process monitor reason code: Unknown

paisano
org.opennms.netmgt.poller.monitors.PrTableMonitor reports reason code unknown when a process is down.

snmpwalk/snmptable on the prtable with a process down work fine:

paisano@corsair [~]$ snmptable 172.26.228.87 prtable
SNMP table: UCD-SNMP-MIB::prTable

 prIndex prNames prMin prMax prCount prErrorFlag                   prErrMessage prErrFix prErrFixCmd
       1  auditd     1     1       0       error Too few auditd running (# = 0)  noError
       2   crond     0     0       1     noError                                 noError

The OpenNMS event states:

Process-Table outage identified on interface 172.26.228.87 with reason code: Unknown

Thanks in advance for any help!

When I remove crond from snmpd.conf the process monitor woks correctly:

Process-Table outage identified on interface 172.26.228.87 with reason code: [Too few auditd running (# = 0)].

And if I have both auditd and crond in the process table and kill crond it works:

Process-Table outage identified on interface 172.26.228.87 with reason code: [No crond process running.].

So it appears the conditions that trigger the Unknown reason code are:

1.  both auditd and crond in the snmpd.conf process table.

2.  auditd is not running.
