95 percentile graphs and jrobin

Samuel Mutel-2
Hello,

Do someone know the changes to apply to graph templates in http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Graph_Gallery#Bits_In.2FOut_integrating_Bandwidth_Utilization to work with jrobin (OpenNMS 1.12) ?
I am interesting with Bits In/Out with 95 percentile (HC).

Regards,
Samuel Mutel.

Re: 95 percentile graphs and jrobin

Ronny Trommer-3
Hi Samuel,

can you send us the error log output from

  $OPENNMS_HOME/logs/webapp/jetty.log

I guess you will have an RRD error if you request the single graph in the WebUI.

Hi Samuel,

can you send us the error log output from

  $OPENNMS_HOME/logs/webapp/jetty.log

I guess you will have an RRD error if you request the single graph in the WebUI.

You need to fix your entry for ifSpeed, it is trying to use the format %0.0f which is invalid.

GPRINT:ifSpeed:AVERAGE:"%6.0lf%sb/s)\\n"

Note that even if you get the computation to work, I think the result
will only be valid for the timespan where you have the full-resolution
samples in the jrb (2 weeks?).   Or at least if you display a month's
view the peaks will already be clipped from the downsampling.

Resource filter for Linux disk full

opennms-discuss
In reply to this post by Samuel Mutel-2
Hi all,

I am trying to NOT monitor the percentage of disk space used on specific
partitions on a Linux server (Centos 7).
They are always 100% full (e.g. /dev/fd).

I tried to apply a simple resource filter on the netsmnp group.
The commented line will not pass "$OPENNMS_HOME/bin/config-tester
thresholds.xml"
Any ideas?

<group name="netsnmp" rrdRepository="/opt/opennms/share/rrd/snmp/">
         <threshold
             description="Trigger an alert when the percentage of disk
space used on any disk reaches or goes above 90% full for two
consecutive measurement intervals"
             type="high" ds-type="dskIndex" value="90.0" rearm="75.0"
             trigger="2" ds-label="ns-dskPath" filterOperator="or"
ds-name="ns-dskPercent"/>
<!--
             <resource-filter
field="ns-dskPath">^(?:(?!(/dev|/dev/fd)).)+$</resource-filter>
-->
         <threshold
             description="Trigger an alert when the percentage of inodes
used on any disk (excluding the specified special paths) reaches or goes
above 90% for two consecutive measurement intervals"
             type="high" ds-type="dskIndex" value="90.0" rearm="75.0"
             trigger="2" ds-label="ns-dskPath" filterOperator="or"
ds-name="ns-dskPercentNode">
             <resource-filter
field="ns-dskPath">^(?:(?!(/proc|/sys|/dev/pts)).)+$</resource-filter>
         </threshold>

Sincerely,
Dan
